Aquarius 2024 is the CCWS annual juried exhibition for excellence in watermedia, with submissions from artists throughout the state. Held at Art Center Morro Bay, 835 Main Street, Morro Bay, CA, the show runs from February 22 thru April 1, 2024. Opening reception was on February 25, when Juror Joe Cibere named award winners and featured artists (see below for photos & more info).
Don’t miss this extraordinary exhibit featuring a wide array of watermedia artworks, ranging in styles from experimental to traditional.
Art Center Morro Bay is open 12:00 – 4:00pm daily.
Juror Joe Cibere named the award winners for our 2024 exhibit, announced at the reception on Sunday, February 25. He also gave a gallery presentation, discussing the merits of individual paintings and the overall quality of the exhibit.

Joe Cibere is a signature member of the National Watercolor Society and his painting style demonstrates his love of nature and wilderness. His "abstract realism" paintings integrate strong design and balance with a sense of illusion and have appeared in Watercolor Magazine and in the International Artists book The Watercolor Sky and Cloud Techniques of 23 International Artists. His work is part of both corporate and private collections. He has been a guest demonstrator at local area art organizations and conducts workshops on watercolor technique throughout the year. Joe has also studied with many acclaimed watercolor artists including: Tony Couch, Nita Engle, Tom Fong, Katherine Ghang Liu, Stephen Quiller, Thomas Schaller and Karen Vernon. In conjunction with judging the show, Joe conducted a three-day workshop.
